Book of The Year

Having reached our first birthday, it’s only right that we celebrate the books we have read in the past twelve months. Throughout the year (April ’14 to April ’15) we have dissected characters, discussed scenes, night-picked at narrative and praised the wonderful authors as we worked our way through genres of the literary world.

Every member took the time to mark them all out of 5. So, from ‘never reading again’ to ‘couldn’t put it down’ the points are in and I can confirm that there is a winner. It was a close call with The Humans by Matt Haig and The Incomers by Moira McPartlin coming in second and third with only 3 points separating them!

However, I am delighted to announce that our Book of the Year 2014/2015 is…

Gweilo – A Hong Kong Childhood by Martin Booth. 2015-04-16 16.45.36
