As all book lovers know, there is an amazing event that takes over Charlotte Square in Edinburgh every August. The Edinburgh International Book Festival opens its doors to the world and we lose ourselves in its welcoming arms.
As the book worms travelled far and wide with their families and friends over June/July, we hatched a plan to meet up within its magnificent confines. The Speigletent is a wondrous construction of stained glass, comfortable seats and metres of draped curtains that give it a magical circus-like feel. We ate hearty soups, devoured delicious cakes and put the world to rights – in just one lunch. Fabulous.
